Driving directions to Inhambane and Barra: From Johannesburg / Pretoria: Take the N4 past Witbank (eMalahleni), Nelspruit and Malelane (Malalane) to the Komatipoort border post (Lebombo/Ressano Garcia). After border crossing procedures, continue on the N4 towards Maputo. This is the main coastal road to the North. Pass the villages of Maracuene (28km); Manhica (75km); Macia (143km) and Chissano to reach the town of Xai-Xai (204km) North of Maputo. Continue on the North coastal road passing smaller villages and towns, including Chidenguele (262km); Quissico (392km) and Inharrime (372km). From Inharrime continue for app 45km passing Cumbano which has a large radio mast on the left hand side of the road. Keep a look out for the sign board on your left that reads Lindela...immediately after this sign the road forks...turn right towards Inhambane. Continue all the way to Inhambane which is app 33 km from this point. Once in Inhambane continue straight to where the harbour quay is visible on the left. Turn righ into Broad Road Ave...DA Independecia...it's possible that there won't be any road signs...in which case ask a local to point you towards the Barra/Tofu road... Continue to the large circle, go around the circle and turn right. Continue with this road, it bears left as you leave town. Continue straight, passing the airport on your left, for app 18km. As you come over the rise you will find Bar Babalaza Restaurant on your right. The tar road bears right and a sand road continues straight. The tar roads leads to a fuel station not far from the junction, and onto Tofu. The sand road leads to Barra. Keep straight on the sand road and follow the signs to Por do Sol.
